It's all about him.

The fact that Schauer supporters feel the need to slam her shows she's a threat to them. Interesting.

April 14, 2008 11:00 PM

I'm not sure if that was directed at me or Schauer supporters as a mass, but I'll reply anyway.

I might have been a little harsh in my post, and if Sharon is actually planning to try to win the seat, then I absolutely admire her and respect her right to do so. I really do like her a lot, and, while she has flaws (like anyone), she'd be a much better representative of this district than Tim Walberg.

Sharon Renier doesn't like the money in politics. Neither do I. I want all public financing. But unfortunately, things do cost money, and in a high-turnout primary or general election, you can't rely on word-of-mouth and face-to-face contact alone. Sometimes, you have to buy television ads. Right now, with $45 in the bank, she could *maybe* afford an ad in the Citizen Patriot.

If Tim Walberg and the Club for Growth are coming at you with misleading attacks and distortions, you've got to be able to at least refute them and publicize your real views. Right now, Sharon Renier doesn't have the resources to do that. She simply can't compete.

That could change. If she started raising at least some money (not necessarily Schauer territory, but something), I would feel a lot better about her as a candidate. If I saw something more than a website, then I wouldn't be so critical.

I want to see Sharon Renier run a real campaign. I want to see her challenge Mark Schauer and make him answer tough questions, because it would make him a better candidate and, if she won, then she'd be ready to go up against Walberg. I want to see that, but I don't right now, and I'm losing patience.

I'm sorry if the term "vanity campaign" was offensive to anyone. But it's clear that 2008 will be very different from 2006 and 2004, and Sharon is a smart enough woman to know that. If she wants to win, she's got to show us that she can and that she really wants it. It's not enough to say that you're running, you've actually got to... well, run.Fitzyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10416823898560265455noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32534894.post-9649217847519116592008-04-14T23:00:00.000-04:002008-04-14T23:00:00.000-04:00If you want a vanity campaign, go with Mark Schaue...If you want a vanity campaign, go with Mark Schauer. If she thinks money isn't important, think about what she would do with yours?

She has no credible chance of being a "player" in this election. Her high numbers in the General last time were simply "Anti-Walberg" votes. I hope she doesn't embarrass herself further under the delusion that it's not about money, it is.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
